I’ve given long and careful thought – and some long and careful reading – of who will get my vote for the Bloggers’ Choice Award for the 2008 Philippine Blog Awards. Believe me, it’s a very difficult exercise: after all, I only have one vote to make. If only I could play to multiple personalities, then I would vote for more than one blogger.
Although I could: I’ll be voting for a group of bloggers. At the risk of sounding patronizing, my vote must go to FilipinoVoices.com.
I’m sure that there are many other blogs in the PBA 2008… conference (excuse the pun) that deserve the accolade of winning Bloggers’ Choice (and I’m definitely sure that a lot of bloggers out there want to win a Nokia N82). Although I must make clear that I’m not voting for FilipinoVoices just because I contribute for it. On those occasions that I contribute to FilipinoVoices, I’d end up making an entry that’s pretty weird, and a bit out of sync with the current… currents, on the main site.
The contributors of FilipinoVoices represent some of the most respectable socio-political views you’ll see in the Philippine blogosphere today (myself not included). It is my privilege, as a humble contributor to Nick’s brainchild, to exchange views (and occasional banter) with some of the brilliant minds of the Filipino blogosphere.
I’m voting for FilipinoVoices, because the Filipino deserves a voice.
